Swiss Point Cheer

Head Coach Shera Carr
I am very excited to be coaching cheer again at Swiss this year! This will be my 8th year as a cheer coach and 3rd year coaching at Swiss. In my two years coaching at Swiss, I have been so proud of the progress the teams have made including placing 1st at UCA Regionals both years and earning bids to Nationals both years as well!
I grew up in Jacksonville and cheered in middle and high school. I attended college at the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where I graduated with a degree in engineering. I have two daughters who are 14 and 17 and both share my love for cheer as well. In my free time I enjoy going to Disney and spending time with family and friends.
As a coach I am passionate about teaching proper cheerleading technique and helping athletes work hard towards personal and team goals. I believe cheerleading teaches athletes life lessons such as leadership and perseverance. I am looking forward to another fun season with amazing athletes!

Assist. Coach Lauren Shaw
I'm looking forward to another year coaching for Swiss Point! My family and I moved to Florida from Long Island, NY a few years ago and we are enjoying every bit of being here! I grew up on Long Island and when we decided to make a move, St. John's was the place for us. I'm happily married, have a daughter going into high school and a son who will be going into 6th grade. The beach is my happy place and I spend plenty of time on the baseball field where my son plays and my husband coaches as well!
This will be my second year coaching a Swiss team as I was the head coach of Swiss Point’s first ever competitive Game Day team! We had a very successful season competing locally and earning a bid to Nationals! My cheer experiences include helping to coach a competitive game day team on Long Island that my daughter cheered on. We competed locally and around the state with great success. I learned so much about Game Day and sideline cheer from that experience and saw how much talent and fun goes into a cheer routine! I have plenty of cheer experience myself as I cheered Middle School and all four years of high school, then received a scholarship to cheer in college. As a Nyack College cheerleader I cheered all four years of college and had the time of my life cheering on the sidelines at basketball games and competing! Cheerleading was such a big part of my life and school career which really helped shape me into who I am today!
I am really looking forward to assistant coaching this season’s Swiss team. I have been through some real ups and downs, highs and lows in life. How you approach those times and what you do with the tough moments makes you stronger and more able! I know that I can bring that attitude, a hard work ethic, positivity and a whole lot of fun to these awesome athletes!
