SJMSAA Cheer
SJMSAA Cheers offers a fall and spring season for rising 6th, 7th and 8th grade middle school residents. Cheer teams participate in sideline cheer events as well as competitions. Cheer team registration will open January 20th, with tryouts occurring in April/May. Practices and events vary per team and there is a Cheer camp held in Spring or Summer. Cheer teams resume cheer events at football games during the Fall season starting in August and each follow their own competitive event schedule that takes them into the following year.

New this year we will hold tryouts for our SJMSAA All-County Cheer Team!
Important dates:
Registration Deadlines
Must register by July 20th to attend both pre-tryout clinics
Must register by August 20th to attend the second clinic
Must register by September 20th to attend tryouts
Pre-Tryout Clinics
(attendance not required to participate in tryouts on 9/22):
July 21st - 5-7 PM at the SPARC gym
August 25th - 5-7 PM at the SPARC gym
Round-One of tryouts
September 22nd from 4 - 8 PM at the SPARC gym
Round-Two of Tryouts (INVITE ONLY)
September 29th from 5 - 7 PM at the SPARC gym
Registration for tryouts is a non-refundable $50. If you make the team, final registration will be $845 broken up into 2 different payments ($345 in Oct. & $500 in Jan.)
There will also be plenty of fundraising opportunities to help pay for the program!
Typical Cheer Season Dates:

Spring: Tryouts/Practices March/April through May and a specific summer schedule.
Fall: Sideline cheering resumes in August for football. Practice and competition cheer varies by team
How do I sign-up?
All seasons require a non-refundable $35 tryout fee. You can select the Register button, choose the school you are zoned for, and begin creating a member profile.
Before attending any clinics all student-athletes need to register through SPARC Athletics at the link below:
Once tryouts have occurred, athletes who are selected for a team will receive an email notification that includes a link to pay the full season registration fee. There is also a payment plan that breaks the registration into two equal payments!
Registration fees generally include: cheer camp, cost of insurance, county fees per player, operational fees.
