SJMSAA Dance Teams were founded in 2021 for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade middle school residents. Teams perform a variety of dance styles that include pom, jazz, hip-hop, kick, and modern contemporary. Dance teams perform at all football games as well as a few soccer games, basketball games, and community events. Dance teams will focus on their sideline dance events starting in August, and each team will then follow their own competitive event schedule that will take them into the following year.​
SJMSAA dance teams are proud to promote school spirit and represent the pride and reputation of all schools in Saint Johns County. The SJMSAA dance teams also introduce middle school students to the training, technique, and dedication needed for High School dance programs.

2024 Season Dates
Dance team registration opens February 28th through May 31, 2024. Early Registration Tryouts my begin in early March with Regular Tryouts commencing on various dates between April 1st and May 31st. Practices and events vary per team.
Coaches Needed
After a successful first year of SJMSAA dance, we are growing and need more coaches to help facilitate new teams for each school! If you are interested in coaching, please contact Dance Commissioner Jasmine VanDyke at dance@sjmsaa.com for all details.
How do I sign-up?
All seasons require a non-refundable $35 tryout fee. You can select the Register button, choose your school or the school you would be zoned for, and create a member profile.

Once tryouts have occurred, athletes selected for a team will receive an email notification that includes a link to pay the full season registration fee.
​
Registration fees generally include cheer camp, cost of insurance, county fees per player, operational expenses.
