Liberty Pines Cheer

Co-Head Coach Nina Butler
My name is Imani Powell and I am excited to announce that I will be the new head cheerleading coach at Liberty Pines Academy. I have over 15 years of experience as a cheerleader and as a coach. Currently, I teach HOPE at Beachside High School where I am also the head varsity cheerleading coach. Before Beachside, I coached at Wolfson High School in Jacksonville. My love for cheer began in middle school and continued through high school. In high school I cheered for my school and my all star team where I competed at worlds and summit. After high school I attended Florida State University where I was a member of the all girl cheerleading team for four years. While at FSU I joined UCA and was on staff for 7 years. During those 7 years I staffed high school and college camps, was a member of core staff, and ran numerous camps. Cheerleading is a true passion of mine and I am excited to share my passion with the athletes at LPA. My coaching style is led by example. I believe that as a coach, if you want to be a good role model for your team you must display integrity, reliability, honesty, sincerity, and loyalty. I want all my athletes to not only walk away from their time with me as a coach as better athletes but also as better people.
